"Home" (aka England) for the Holidays

It was so great to be "home" for the holidays...home being our own house in England. This was to be our first time to wake up in our own house on Christmas morning since Kevin and I had been married. Kevin had to go into work for a couple days to sort stuff out since he missed Monday, but when he did get to be home it was great. He and the kids "wrestled" a lot. It was of their favorite things to do now having Kevin and I lay down on our back and they jump on us and we tickle them back.

Grandma Sally got to help the kids make up a bunch more Christmas cookies. We saved making sugar cookies until she came and with an extra bag of chocolate stars in the pantry we just HAD to make another batch of Peanut Butter Blossoms!!!

Harrison was sure getting in the holiday spirit.

Don't know if I've ever had a picture of me in my kitchen, but here is one with me in my glory, decorating Christmas cookies. I still miss all of the counter space I used to have in Washington, but it feels cozy I guess. We got so many lovely Christmas cards this year and lined them all up on the window sill. I felt so bad that we didn't get to send any out this year...timing just wasn't right with us leaving that week before and then rushing to get Christmas gifts mailed home in time.

The kids just seemed to be so excited to be back and playing with all their toys and Grandpa I think enjoyed just getting to rest.

We did have a pleasant surprise when we did get home to England was that there was snow on the ground in Peterborough. Not that we hadn't enjoyed all the snow we had in Switzerland but to have snow for Christmas in England which is a very, very uncommon occurrence here.

Since we don't get much snow here and if we do it doesn't last long so we got the kids out to play a bit in it. We headed out to the back garden to play on the climbing frame.

Addison had fun making snow angels.

We also did a little walk down the street and back. It was so fun to see the kids getting to experience this with Grandma and Grandpa. Also this was the first time we have actually been in England during the shortest days of the winter as it is only about 3: 30PM and the sun is almost down.
