Kevin is not one to like surprises but I love to surprise people and even though I set up a surprise party for him back in the States, we couldn't go without a party in the UK with our friends here. I recruited Danny Wong to get Kevin out of the house for a few hours. He came up with a classic excuse of having to go look for a coffee table at M&S in town but first he had to drive 45 minutes in the total opposite direction of Spalding to look for some shoes. How funny! Kevin had absolutely no clue what was going on and the look on his face when he opened the door was the greatest. He said he was actually looking forward to coming home to get a long nap this afternoon but we had better plans for him.
I had made some American cupcakes for Kevin's cake...one of those 4th of July mixes, but then Debbie brought a trifle, Sarah brought strawberries and cream and a strudel and Jane brought a pavlova! You never have a shortage on puddings at an American/British BBQ.It did start to rain on us half way through the evening so we all had to move into the house, but what's a little closeness among friends.
Here is Danny Wong with two things you often see with him...his camera and my son! These two are like peas in a pod.
