The Neuschwanstein Castles is one of my most favorite and it was amazing to be able to come back to see it, but now in the fall. Funny thing was that with all the snow around it was like seeing it in winter as well. It was definitely fun to be back now with Harrison as I was 6 months pregnant with him when we came the first time.
I told Kevin that there was no way that I was going to walk that hill again. As the roads weren't the best they weren't running the buses so we opted to ride up the hill in the horse drawn carriages.

It was a real treat to get to ride on the carriage with the horses and enjoy the scenery versus huffing and puffing it up that crazy steep hill.
The views from the top were amazing as always.
The kids really enjoyed having Grandma and Grandpa there with them. Again we toured inside the castle and no more rooms have been completed since we were their last time...no surprises there though.
After our ride back down the hill, we headed inside for our first real German meal and this place looked pretty interesting.
I had the roast pork with red cabbage and potato dumpling...yummy!!!
It's amazing how that huge castle can look so tiny when you down at the bottom. Time for a family picture. Of course Kevin is giving his mom a thumbs up that she's doing a good job taking pictures rather than picking on her to make sure she's got the camera high enough to get the castle in the back ground...silly.
As we drove away, I snapped a quick picture of the castle and it really looks super tiny with the majestic mountains in the background. Looks like it's perched on a tiny hill from here.
Our next overnight stay was at Le Poste Hotel just south of Rosenhiem to get us halfway to Bertchstgaden and Salzburg.
We had pretty decent rooms, but Mike and Sally ended up in a completely different building as us. The kids had a great time running around the room and playing around in the glass showers. Funny the things that keep them occupied.
Again, another mazing meal. I had the boiled beef with boiled potatoes!! Kevin had the weinerschnitzle and it was awesome as well. For a nice added touch they had a nice little sign reserving our table for us. I also made a mistake of ordering water and forgetting to ask for "still" water and ended up with a huge liter bottle of sparkling water. I really don't understand sparkling water...it doesn't taste good and if you want something fizzy I would think you would want some flavor to it.
