Crystal got to come out to mom and dad's one last time before she had to go to work. As the boys were admiring their fish, Crystal and I admired our little ones while sitting in Grandpa's boat.
We got to chill out in the house a bit. Addison got a special story read to her by Auntie Crystal and Harry tried listening in as well.
After two weeks, Bo finally warmed up to Uncle Kevin and took a little rest with him on the couch.
Then Auntie Crystal and Grandma broke out the sidewalk chalk and the girls went to town drawing faces, rainbows, hopscotch, and more. I think Crystal and Grandma were having the most fun though.
That night it was finally cool enough and the humidity had gone away to comfortably have a bonfire, one of my most favorite summertime activities. We roasted hotdogs and brats and made s'mores...oh yeah! We packed up the ol' tub with plates, silverware, and all of our goodies like mom used to when we were kids. I also found out why we always brought along a wet wash cloth to cook outs and camping. I always thought it was a practical thing my mom would pack along with us and so I've always done the same. I found out that when my mom was little they didn't have a lot of money so instead of napkins, my grandma would set out a few wet wash clothes amongst the 8 kids so they could wash off their hands.
Bo gets all cozied up to mom. He has been battling some kind of bug since we've been back and he's just gotten over the bad part so he's pretty wiped out. He so looks like Crystal Jo when she was little. It was a great night and loads of fun and a perfect way to end a trip back home.
What an amazing sunset as well. It is just so peaceful at mom and dad's and Kevin and I would so love to have a place like this when we move back to the US. We can always dream!
