Today despite a poor weather forecast Juliet and I made our way up to Sundown Adventure Park with our kids. We left at 8:30 to make it up there by 10 when it opened and we stayed until 6PM when it closed and we didn't get to all the things to see at the park. It is essentially a mini-Disneyland for 2-10 year olds but with a fairytale theme. We all had an absolute blast and I can only imagine what it will be like when we actually get to go to Disneyland. We also met up with a good friend of Juliet's and her two kids so it was a big day for us all.
Addison had been dying to stand by the bears all day long so we did our little pose with the girl bear but Harry didn't want anything to do with it...not a good sign for Disney some day.
When we first got there we headed to all the rides first as Juliet said that the queues can get quite long on school break days. Luckily the poor weather forecast kept a lot of people home and yet there were quite a few people there we didn't have to stand in too many lines. We did the Christmas ride three times in a row to start with and then off to the water ride just as it started to sprinkle on us. It reminded me of very tame Raging River at Adventureland but with little alligators and pirates that shot water out at us.
Addie didn't care to get wet on this ride...so we headed over to the train ride through a canyon with bandits trying to blow up mines.
We also rode coaches through Robin Hood's Sherwood forest...
and drove tractors through the farm. The rides are all set up for little kids to sit in the front in little seats and steering wheels.
In Fairytale Land there were loads of little houses themed with different fairy tales. There were little things in each house that could be played with along with a voice telling part of the story. This was a little castle with the sword in the stone.

The Three Bear's House with a table filled with their porriage.
The witch's house who locked up Hansel and Gretel until they got fat enough to eat. The kids had fun being locked up.
Out side Snow White and the Seven Dwarf's house was a wishing well that repeated what you said into it.
The kids fit well around the seven dwarf's table.
We visited the big candy castle with loads of sweets and treats all over. Harrison thought this was too big of a drop of water for this guy to have on his own and tried to get a bit of it for himself.
Inside the castle was a music room with a huge microphone on a stage that the kids had a great time dancing and singing and entertaining us mums.
Of course no day would be complete without some ice cream.
Western World was lots of fun. Addison was ready to hit the ol' West on this horsey pulling a covered wagon...yeee haw!!!

Harry got his sharp shooter ready to take care of those pesky robbers.
Turns out both of them were wanted for something or other. I think they look guilty for something...but I'd rather collect them alive.
Along one path we saw Humpty Dumpty....
Rode in Cinderella's pumpkin coach and on the horses leading it towards the castle.
and a fire breathing dragon.
Again we had a long, tiring but amazing day. We finished it all off with a stop at McD's for dinner which is chaotic with 6 kids and 3 tired mums. The kids all fell asleep in the car ride home and then we put them straight in the their PJ's and dumped them in bed.
