4th of July - 2010

Happy Birthday America!!!

We got the kids all psyched up for a big party we were going to have for America's birthday since we made it a point to be back in the States for the 4th of July. Unfortunately it decided to rain (hard) all day long in Western Iowa on the 4th. That didn't dampen our spirits though. Ryan, Lindsay, Emma and little Maggie (their dog) all made their way over to Mike and Sally's for the day and we had loads of fun playing inside.

After they all got used to each other the kids had fun playing with each other while coloring, playing with building blocks, and reading stories. We were all meant to go to a parade around 10 AM but of course with the rain that wasn't a go today.

Finally around 4:30 the rain subsided and we all got outside to play with the bubble blowing sticks that Grandma Sally got for the kids.

Everyone had an absolute ball whether they were blowing or chasing after bubbles.

Addison carefully tries to poke them.

Uncle Ryan coaches Harry on the art of waving the bubble wand.

Addison then zooms around on the little bicycle that Grandma got for her to ride. Look at those curls coming in her hair with all the humidity.

Emma wanted to join the fun and scooted around on the construction truck.

The kids help Grandpa work on fixing one of his patio chairs. I don't think he factored the helpers into this quick little project, but they had a blast helping him out.

Happy faces after a great visit home!!!
